Vista Alegre is a renowned Portuguese porcelain manufacturer, founded in 1824 by José Ferreira Pinto Basto in Ílhavo, Portugal. Initially, the factory produced glassware and soapstone pottery, but by 1880, it shifted focus entirely to porcelain.
The Pratochin pattern by Vista Alegre is inspired by Chinese and European porcelain traditions, featuring rust-orange and gold accents. While the exact designer isn't widely documented, Vista Alegre has historically collaborated with renowned artists and designers to create its intricate patterns.
The company has been producing high-quality porcelain since 1824, and the Pratochin design emerged as part of its 19th or early 20th-century collections.
Over the years, Vista Alegre has collaborated with artists and designers, refining its craftsmanship and expanding its product range. In 2001, it merged with the Atlantis Group, becoming one of the largest tableware manufacturers in the world. Today, Vista Alegre is known for its luxury porcelain, crystal, and glassware, blending tradition with modern innovation
