Royal Crown Derby has a fascinating history dating back to 1750. It was founded in Derby, England, and is one of the oldest remaining English porcelain manufacturers. Initially known as Derby Porcelain, the company became Crown Derby in 1773, and later received the Royal designation in 1890.

The company was shaped by William Duesbury, a talented entrepreneur who acquired the Chelsea porcelain factory in 1770, bringing its assets and skilled artisans to Derby. Over the years, Royal Crown Derby became renowned for its high-quality bone china, producing exquisite tableware and ornamental pieces.

Royal Crown Derby has maintained a strong connection with British royalty since 1761, supplying fine porcelain to every British monarch since King George III. The company’s craftsmanship and artistry continue to be admired worldwide.
