The Industrious Cottager and The Rustic Lover are stipple engravings created after Francis Wheatley, a British artist known for his pastoral and domestic scenes. These engravings were published by Bull & Jeffryes, a London-based print publisher, around 1787.

Condition is very good as the engravings have been preserved under glass and framed. the frames have the original labels verso. The frames have some wear and loss in areas with historic repair to areas of the gesso but they have protected the pieces very well and all wear is commensurate with age.

They measure 20 & 1/2" or 52cms in height, and 17" or 43cm in width.
