Antique Charger Plate
Hand crafted and decorated underglaze in Ko Sometsuke / old blue.
This is a huge platter. It is hand decorated with very beautiful illustration of flowers in basket surrounded by a tree which has branches and roots wrapping around the border. The rim has a scalloped edge. Condition is very good. A very nice antique piece 19thc Meiji or possibly earlier 1868~1912
Measures 46cm or 18 & 1/8" diameter
Condition. Inspection found some age related wear but no hips cracks or restoration. The piece does have some small original firing blemishes.
Note that with antique items there may be tiny areas of wear that are authentic and signs of age and early manufacturing techniques. These include kiln stand marks, and glaze flaws.
