Rare Antique Raffaelesco Dragon Deruta Pottery Italian Maiolica Plate 17thc Design

A rare antique Deruta plate with Raffaelesco illustration detailing two putti characters in a tender embrace with dragon design to the border.

This is a museum quality find and condition for the age is good. It is in the 17thc style and is painted with tin glaze enamel which has some luster to the blue markings.

We do not know the precise age but have compared to other early pieces and it appears to be an early authentic example of Deruta antique pottery. 

There has been historic restoration to some areas of the plate which have been pointed to in images. The restoration has a slight difference in colour when inspected closely but is otherwise well done matching the original piece very well. 

The plate measures 25.3cm or 9" & 7/8" in diameter.  Weight is 500gm.
