Antique French Sevres Porcelain Lozenge Cabinet Plate Cherub Gold Gilt

French Sevres style porcelain plate from a hand-painted cherub service, individually decorated with floral and insect details.

This plate is marked with 18thc Sevres mark but we feel could be later decorated in the 19thc with a similar mark in the Sevres fashion. 

 The painting of this plate is beautiful and coordinates with a full dinner set we had. Each plate had a cherub in different poses with variations to the floral details and insects.

The majority of the original service has now been dispersed, with individual pieces selling between £150-£300 range, reflecting quality and condition, desirability of the subject pattern and design. 

Such variation is typical of high quality French revival porcelain where artistic individuality was valued, and ensures no two pieces are exactly the same.

Condition. The plate is in good antique condition. Inspection found that there are four shallow flea bite nibbles to the rim. There is a restoration under one of the flea bites. 

The gilt is real gold and there is a little wear to the rim.
