Set of 6 luxurious antique Plates made c1891 marked M Redon. In excellent condition with scalloped rim embellished with gold.
Measures 6 & 1/4" or 16cm diameter.
Martial Redon was a prominent porcelain manufacturer in Limoges, France. He founded the company Martial Redon & Cie in the early 1860s, initially partnering with P.J. Gibus. After Gibus retired in 1881, Redon took sole ownership and continued to produce high-quality porcelain items, including plates, cups, and decorative arts.
The company was known for its intricate hand-painted designs and luxurious embellishments, often using real gold. In 1896, Martial Redon retired, and his son Joseph took over the company, which was later renamed La Porcelaine Limousine
