19thc Antique German Black Forest Wooden Framed Carved Limestone Plaque

A 19thc Black Forest German beautifully wall plaque that is hand carved piece of limestone illustrating a country scene with people and animals. The piece has a high level of detail and overall it is in good condition. The Black Forest region in Germany, renowned for its dense forests and picturesque landscapes, inspired a unique style of wood carving that became popular in the 19th century. These carvings were often created by skilled artisans who drew on the natural beauty around them. The use of limestone, while less common than wood, added a different texture and longevity to the artwork

Inspection Report; Condition is good overall. There are some signs of wear to the raised extremities of the  carved figures. There are no chips cracks or repairs. The frame has some small losses to the carved wooden flowers / leaves. There are some surface marks commensurate with age.
