Bio

George Jones & Sons was a renowned English pottery company based in Stoke-on-Trent, established in 1861 by George Jones. Initially producing white granite wares, the company expanded into fine china and majolica, gaining acclaim for its intricate designs and high-quality craftsmanship. By 1865, the company moved to the Trent Potteries, where it began producing its famous majolica pieces in 1866.

The firm was known for its innovative designs, including the popular "Apple Blossom" pattern, and won medals at international exhibitions, such as the Paris Exposition in 1867. After George Jones' death in 1893, the company continued under family leadership until it was sold in 1929. The Crescent Potteries, as it was later known, ceased operations in 1957.

Their pieces remain highly collectible today, celebrated for their artistic and historical value.
