A fine pair of Spode "Grasshopper" pattern plate, with date marks for 1815 to 1830 and 1835 to 1847 an antique, blue-and-white transfer-printed design from the early 19th century, known for its Chinese-inspired motifs. It features a detailed scene with a grasshopper, flowering plants, and a bird, framed by a patterned border.

Era: The pattern was produced by Spode (and later Copeland Spode) primarily between approximately 1805 and 1835. It was also revived later as part of the "Blue Room Collection" in the late 20th and early 21st century.
Material: The original antique pieces were typically made from ironstone or "Stone China," a type of earthenware made to resemble Chinese porcelain.
Design: The central design is a transfer-print in a medium blue colour, featuring Chinoiserie elements like flowering plants and a grasshopper. Some rare variations exist with different borders, such as the "Group" pattern border.
Identification: Pieces from the 19th century usually bear a blue printed "Spode Stone China" or "Copeland Spode" backstamp.
