A fine antique Imari ribbed porcelain vase, from the 19th century Meiji period period 1868-1913.
It is decorated with traditional Imari colors, including cobalt blue, iron red, and white enhanced with gold.
The porcelain originated in the Arita area of Japan and was shipped from the port of Imari.
The design incorporates floral and bird motifs, with details on all parts that include the body base and neck.
The vase also has an ornate metal cap that appears to be made of brass.
It is decorated in underglaze cobalt blue and painted iron red and gilt with two phoenix amidst flowers and foliage, with slightly tapered neck.
Measures 9" or 23cm height.
Condition inspection found the piece in good condition overall shape. There is a fine crack running from the rim down the body which is fine and stable otherwise condition is very good.
