A very striking rare Hammersley porcelain tea cup set comprising of cup saucer and side plate from the 19thc. It is decorated with chrysanthemum floral illustrations and luxuriously embellished with real gold gilt.
The design is registered c1896.
Condition inspection found there are not any chips cracks or restoration. There is fine crazing to the cup commensurate with age.
Measures; Side plate 7" or 18cm diameter
Saucer 5 & 1/2 or 14cm diameter
Cup 3 & 3/8 or 8.7cm diameter ~ 2 & 1/8" 5.5cm height

Hammersley is a name often associated with fine bone china and porcelain. The Hammersley pottery was established in 1862 in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, England. Known for its intricate designs and high-quality craftsmanship, it became a favorite among collectors worldwide. Over the years, the brand underwent several changes in ownership, eventually becoming part of the Royal Worcester and Spode Group in the 1970s. Production under the Hammersley name continued until 1988, when it was sold to Aynsley China
