A rare pastille burner by Copeland from the 1847-67 period. These were items crafted in the 19th century designed to hold fragrant pastilles, which were burned to freshen the air in homes.
The burner was designed to mimic Shakespeares birth home and has beautiful hand painted details which capture the beams and realistic features of the property.
The piece measures 5 & 1/4" or 13.3cm in length and 4 & 7/8" or 12.5cm in height.
Condition inspection found the item displays well and does not have any cracks. There is chip to the rear roof corner and front corner, loss to area around window lip and door. These details have been pointed to in images for inspection pre purchase.
The colour has some tainting due to smoke from previous use.
