Antique Pencil Fine Drawing Christmas A Reverie 19thc Illustration by Hinksley 1857

A very detailed one of a kind finely composed drawing in excellent condition. 

The piece illustrates a humorous scene of a gentleman on a chair surrounded by tiny characters. 

The drawing is signed J A Hinksley under the title A Reverie. The header of the illustration says Merry Christmas. 

John Hinsksley was a talented amateur artist. The drawing is almost of professional quality, which is not unusual for the period as it was a regular pastime for the educated and professional classes. 

Measurements of actual drawing 19.2cm width 29.3cm height

Mount width 33cm and height 41cm 

The condition was closely inspected and there are no rips or damages. There are some minor foxing marks.
