The blush-colored M. Redon Limoges plate with a scalloped edge falls under the Rococo Revival or Baroque-inspired design styles, which were popular in 19th-century French porcelain. These plates feature delicate curves, embossed details, and gilded accents, giving them an elegant, flowing appearance.
They feature;
-
Scalloped Edge – A wavy or curved rim, often seen in Victorian-era porcelain.
-
Blush Tint – A soft, peachy or pink-toned glaze, sometimes referred to as "blush ivory" in antique ceramics.
-
Shell or Fluted Design – shell-like ridges.
-
Real Gold Gilt Embellishment
Bio;
Martial Redon was a French porcelain manufacturer based in Limoges, a city renowned for its fine porcelain production. He founded his factory in the 1860s alongside P.J. Gibus, but after Gibus retired in 1881, Redon took sole ownership.
His company specialized in plates, cups, vases, and decorative arts, often featuring underglaze patterns and pâte-sur-pâte designs. In 1896, Martial Redon retired, and his son Joseph Redon took over. The company later merged with P. Jouhanneaud, becoming La Porcelaine Limousine in 1906.
The factory changed hands multiple times before closing in 1938, but it was revived in 1946 by Alexandre Chastagnac, who built a new facility in 1955
