Antique French Faience 19thc Quimper Snuff Bottle Friendship Mon Amore Finina

Antique Quimper French Faience snuff scent bottle. Made as a souvenir c1850. It has hand painted enamel illustration with inscription which translates;

When this rooster will sing, my love will have finished. As the rooster is an illustration there is no chance of it crowing hence a lovely token of affection.         

It also has The word "AMITÉ" which means "friendship" in French, which suggests the snuff box might have been a sentimental item.

The piece also has a crest symbolic of Mont Saint-Michel which is an iconic landmark in France, known for its stunning medieval abbey perched on a tidal island. 

The item measures 3" or 11.5cm in height, and the width is 6cm or 2 & 3/8"

The condition ; Inspection found that the piece has a chip to base corner. There are some tiny nibbles to the enamel on rim areas which have been shown in images for pre purchase inspection. The cork stopper is rattling inside the bottle which we have not tried to get out.
