Pair of Antique Staffordshire Lions
A fine pair of lions from the Victorian era 1840s+. They have slight height difference and variation in features. These are not repro , and with no restoration. They are a heavy pair with combined weight 6.1kg. They feature glass eyes and hand painted details. Features are different on the faces. They are symmetrical but have slight variation in size, crackle, features and patina. They are a characterful pair of lions. The size is large 27cm in height by 37cm in length. They have some small historic damage which is discreet and quite typical on this pottery. They have an authentic craquelure / crazed patina. These lions would have been finely displayed as a fireplace decorative pair, or mantle / window display.

Condition: The lions have faces with different features, both have crazing to the glaze.
Inspection found lion one has a chip to the back reverse of foot.
Lion two has two repairs to the front right foot, repair to the rear left leg, and damage to one glass eye.
