19thc Antique c1820 Spode Trio ~ Tea Cup, Coffee Cup & Saucer~#3886~Gold Gilt~Roses

Spode 1820s antique true trio which includes coffee and tea cup and saucer. Pattern 3886. 

There is a beautiful hand sculpted serpent that curves over the bowl formed as a handle. The embellishment of real gold gilt gives the pieces the wow factor. An incredible pink hand painted cabbage rose design and lavish real gold gilt .

Bio;

Spode is a renowned name in the world of porcelain, known for its high-quality bone china and beautiful designs. The company was founded by Josiah Spode I in 1776 in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, England. Spode is credited with perfecting the technique of underglaze transfer printing and developing bone china, which became the standard for English porcelain.

By 1886, Spode had already established itself as a leading manufacturer of fine porcelain, producing a wide range of tableware, decorative items, and collectibles. The company continued to innovate and expand its product lines throughout the 19th and 20th centuries.

Inspection report;

Condition is very good. There is a very tiny chip that has been rubbed down on the underside of the saucer rim. There is a small area which has stained on the saucer rim. No other chips cracks crazing or restoration. The item is over 200 years old and may have some kiln marks, and signs of use / age that are not damages.

Tea Cup - 3 & 7/8" or 9.8cm diameter ~ 2 & 1/2" or 6.3cm height of bowl including handle

Coffee Cup 3" or 7.5cm diameter~2 & 1/2" or 6.4cm bowl height
Saucer 5 & 3/4" or 14.5cm diameter
