50s 60s Vintage Retro Zig Zag Atomic Sputnik Coat Hat Hooks Rack Wooden Ball

The Sputnik coat rack is a stylish, mid-century modern piece inspired by the Space Age aesthetic. It features metal frame with colorful wooden ball hooks, resembling the iconic Sputnik satellite launched in 1957. These racks became popular in the 1950s and 1960s, reflecting the fascination with futuristic design.

The design is attributed to Osvaldo Borsani, an Italian designer known for his innovative furniture pieces.

The coat rack measures 21 & 1/2" or 54.5cm in length, and 7" or 18cm in height.

Inspection found the piece has wear related to age and use. The coloured balls are losing some of the original paint and the metal has weathered. It has a very authentic vintage aesthetic.
